Borderlands on Amazon. Really don't know why I bothered and started to read a magazine part way through.
Chic flick - Holiday
An easy but pleasant watch last night for me on Prime.

Running Man (2025) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Running_Man_(2025_film)
Uninspiring. After an hour my iPad had 90% of my concentration, film only 10% and didn't miss much. Just predictable and by end glad I did some useful stuff on my iPad.
OK, original Schwarzenegger not brilliant but for it's day and as a vehicle for Schwarzenegger it stood-up a lot better than this 2025 version.
What so disappoints me about so many of today's remakes/reboots of films is that there are so many brilliant stories as yet un-filmed why not do something original with something to say rather than some bland "me too" effort that does little more than fill a few hours for TV airtime (one exception being the lastes Dune films which really did have something to add and were brilliant).

I heard the same which made me think about the purpose of fictional films. Are they about faithfully recreating a fictional story or about entertainment based around an idea? If it isn't entertaining does it matter that it's faithful to an author's writings? If it is entertaining does it matter is it tells a slightly different story than that from a book? From what I've heard the 2025 movie version is more faithful to the original book than the Arnie version so it could be claimed that they were trying to "fix" it. Also supposedly it is amazing how Stephen King could see today's circumstances in the 70s. Not seen it so don't know.
I don't think it is important. Different is just different and subjective. Some will prefer the original, some the remake. FWIW in my view the book and film Jaws are both very good, and both very different.
Good luck with this fella - I've been saying the same since ... well probably since internet fora emerged. And believe me, my view is NOT popular ...If it isn't entertaining does it matter that it's faithful to an author's writings? If it is entertaining does it matter is it tells a slightly different story than that from a book?
My impression is that generally fiction books are more complex than the film version or rather that the film version simplifies the story from the book.
