Went with Wonka last night as the cold rain poured down.
A fun “prequel”, definitely worth 8 Whipple Scrumptious Fudgemallow Delights out of 10 bars 🙏

The Big Lebowski, passed the time and was amusing here and there but wasnt impressed. Thought i'd give it a try as it had rave reviews on radio 4 and has cult status and many fans...why? what am i missing?

Really?

I love that film, an absolute classic. Bridges, Turturro, Buscemi, Goodman all excellent in it.

Depends on sense of humour I suppose but it's one of my favourite films.

I would say it's very much a "vibe" film - if you get hooked by the vibe, then the whole thing become enjoyable, even when nothing is happening. Plenty of similar films out there, in this sense (I suspect most of the python films, for an e.g. )

I'm not actually part of the "cult", but I've only watched it the once and enjoyed it, so maybe I still have time to get hooked properly in ...

Ammonite with Kate Winslet. People were really mardy back then. Perhaps it was the lack of central heating.

Same thing with Fargo. I absolutely loved it but my sister, niece, and nephew hated it so much that they gave up after the first 20 minutes. I have not managed to persuade them to give it another go!

Which reminds me... I would like to watch it again.

Watched the film numerous times and the TV series which I've watched twice...love Fargo.

TV series is excellent too, there's multiple seasons but each is self contained.
