Peaky Blinders on Netflix. Good but didn't live up to the trailers imo. Too much gypsy hocus hocus for my tastes too.
Well worth a watch if you enjoyed the series but probably best if you have a lower expectations.

I thought they were quite smart by following the model of Breaking Bad and Deadwood by not using it as the setup for something new, which they all could have done, to the series' detriment (I know it's a series by Yellowstone I'm looking at you).

Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie. Very moving (no pun intended). I didn't really know his work outside of Back to the Future 1, 2 and 3. And I don't even remember when he announced his Parkinson's disease. Probably still worth a watch even if you haven't seen many of his films

I like Groundhog Day. It's one of those films that I come back to every now and then and still enjoy

Apparently, it was Groundhog Groundhog Day yesterday. (When you catch yourself watching Groundhog Day and it feels like you watched it yesterday and the day before that and...) I then woke up several times during the night thinking that I had fallen asleep during Groundhog Day!

It felt like a lot has changed since the film was made 33 years ago. Bill Murray's character Phil was being way too insistent in his attempts to woo Rita. The first 'no' meant no, so I felt uncomfortable watching him get a second one, and a third...

I did enjoy it again but I will probably leave it another 10 years before watching it again.

Excellent cast in a film which not only met expectations but far exceeded them.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Peaky Blinders Immortal Man film, I thought it was a fitting end to go out on a high, but will it come back with Duke in the lead role? possibly I think

Totally will happen.

The Prestige.

One of Nolan's best. Definitely one that makes you think. Jackman in particular stood out from a very strong cast.
As ever with Nolan was on the verge of being too clever for its own good but I think just stayed on the right side of the line.

"The Menu", starring Ralph Fiennes. Thoroughly enjoyable horror film. When chefs strike back. Recommended.

The Detective, 1954, with Alec Guinness. The original (?) Father Brown pursues Flambeau.

Prisoners, with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhall.

Quite riveting at times but probably half an hour too long and found the final act a bit disappointing. 6.5/10.

Sunlight on Amazon Prime. Very quirky little movie. You'll probably be thinking about this one for a while longer than most films.

Lightweight, but enjoyable, with a script by Nick Hornby: Brooklyn. Nicely judged performance by Saoirse Ronan.
