I have a decent rear mudguard on my favourite ride:

The front however; is er…less effective 🙄

So; preparing for some late-year / Christmas Holiday rides 😁 - I have today purchased an SKS S-Board front. At just £12.95 + postage from Merlin Cycles.

Got one of these on my Gravel bike. And for the cost, adjustability, sturdiness / fit…….it’s very good for keeping the worst off 👌

Not bought today but coming today is a new Garmin Varia RTL516. My old one last a 3.5 hour ride with a couple of warnings of low battery but when it was new 8 or 9 years ago, it'd easily last a full day without warning. Decathlon have a Black Friday deal so I ordered another (just googled and sigma are doing a similar deal) which I'll use for any longer rides in the summer and keep the old one for grotty rides and commutes.

Today I've purchased the ultimate bit of kit, I didn't know I needed one, in fact I don't need one but having seen it in an LBS today I just had to buy it!!!! 😂😂😂

Strangely in the last two weeks I've had to give fellow riders one of my traditional bit of old tyre boots.

Two days of buying for me or receiving paid for goods.
Yesterday I received a new 10sp 11-28 cassette and KMC chain. So I can lower the gear ratio on my commuter again so I can use it on winter club rides with hills.
Today I received the 3 short sleeve shirts I ordered and to round it up for free delivery I also got sun glasses. Given that my old photochromic glasses are beginning to fog up too much on winter rides I ordered these to replace them. Oh and I also got a free pump, it seems quite good quality but I don't know if Id rely on something so small. Though I usually carry CO2 and a USB pump too so it would probably do as backup and lighten my load.

Been TPU curious so thought I'd give them a try. 4 Cyclami tubes with 60mm metal valves delivered today. They seem to come in pairs and each box has a couple of tyre levels and some patches in which will come in handy. £10 for the lot from AliExpress.

RAW reflective mudguard flaps for the Genesis Smithfield ebike. Not cheap at £19.99, nor quickly delivered, taking three weeks for a custom design. They do look great.

The bike, as supplied, has short mudguards that allow muck to be plastered all over the motor and my feet. With 2" tyres that's a lot of stinky grime.

Predictably they were fiddly to fit.

My back light failed last night so I ordered a replacement pair (back + front) which are due to arrive this afternoon***. That will leave me with a backup front light.

The new lights are the same type that I bought a month ago for my Devon bike. They are cheap, but are bright enough for the lit roads that I will use them on, and they look well made. TBH though, if they pack up after a couple of years use that would be okay, except for being more electrical waste to recycle.

*** They arrived on time!
