What have you bought for the bike today ?

Well after ordering a winter jacket it turned mild, so what will happen after ordering some new Orange Sealant!
Touchwood, I've had no p'tures since switching to it; having initially bought it to try and seal permanently a hole on a new gravel bike tyre that kept on opening up with Peatys, it did so. I also used it subsequently to seal a hole on a road bike tyre that Peatys couldn't. Its also been very easy to fill through the valve (except from one case of user error). 🤞

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Bought a couple of much larger chainrings at 55/40 for the TT bike for a try rather than the 52/36 that's currently installed. Whether I can actually push the bigger chainrings is a different matter though.

just won a second hand 10 speed 105 rd for the giant as the current mech is an old 10 speed tiagra and im not sure if the springs are knackered as i can never get the system to shift consistently as you need to tweak it the more you ride.
I did exactly the same thing on my CAADX this year and am very happy that I did.

The Tiagras didn't pull enough cable for the mechanical disk brakes - the levers pulled right to the handlebars on heavy braking! The 105s pull the cables further so the brakes work really well now.

The gear shifting is much nicer.

I find the shape of the 105 hoods much more comfortable.

The 105s route the cables under the bar tape which is much neater than the Tiagra exposed cables.

PS Oops, you were just talking about the rear mech! Never mind, I will leave my comments in case anybody is thinking of upgrading the shifters.

Ordered my self an Ekoi padded softshell jacket last night and ordered some sun glasses for my holiday next year if I get it sorted out, so I'd get free postage.

Could you kindly let me know if you get hit for any extra import/admin fees please?

Recent purchases not for me, but for my partner.

She has a Liv Gravel bike, and finds the saddle (Liv Approach) really comfy - she rode a bike that lives with my parents, and although it used to be fine, it's not as comfy as the Liv saddle, so I went on the hunt for more approaches.

Managed to bag a new one (taken straight off a bike) for £24 delivered off of FB marketplace, and an SL (lighter) one from the bay of e, for £32 delivered, again new and unused - will keep that one for her roadbike.

Additionally a chap in our club, the current chairman as it happens, was selling a 10 month old Garmin 840, with screen protector and silicone case.
My partner is struggling with an old 1000 currently, so this will make a decent Christmas present and upgrade for her, and set me back a fairly reasonable £230 - it's in properly mint condition.

Touch wood, I've never been hit for extra import/admin fees. The cost of delivery is quite steep but its EVRI and your better to get things delivered to a pick up location and if you spend a little more you'll get free delivery to there (I ordered the sunglasses for that).

A couple of SRAM PG1130 cassettes, both 11-28 from Sport & Leisure for £27 each.
I was looking for something else in the spares pile yesterday when I realised that the only spare cassette in there was an 11-34 for either of the Spa Elans, so something was needed as a spare for the road bikes. And at only £27 why not get two.

My back light failed last night so I ordered a replacement pair (back + front) which are due to arrive this afternoon***. That will leave me with a backup front light.

The new lights are the same type that I bought a month ago for my Devon bike. They are cheap, but are bright enough for the lit roads that I will use them on, and they look well made. TBH though, if they pack up after a couple of years use that would be okay, except for being more electrical waste to recycle.

*** They arrived on time!
