What have you bought for the bike today ?

A spare vintage Shimano M570 44T chainring for my commuter. I always acquire a spare soon after replacing it. I get 12 to 18 months out of them.

Did you click on the link as I’m sure it says some of their lights are not compatible with Bryson mounts.

I didn't to be fair, the difference between them is pretty minor and I've previously adapted one garmin holder with minor fettling. It fits pretty easily just it didn't click into position as nicely as the correct item.

Bar tape from China. Had to order some for a project, so got another pair for the Galaxy. Doesn’t need it yet, but it’ll go in the box with the rest of the spares.

Ianrauk, is the garmin top ring removable do you know. Thinking it might be worth a punt if my Bryton gps mount will fit. Almost the same as garmin, just doesn't click into position as good when on a garmin mount.

I bought a game controller last week to use with my Apple TV box running smart turbo trainer apps. (Using the Apple remote is horrid and I prefer not to use a touch screen device either.)

I wanted a secure non-bodgy way of mounting the controller to the turbo bike. I decided to use a Garmin mount; I had an unused one in my spares box.

I just bought 2 stick on Garmin mount pads. I will fix one of those to the bottom of the controller. Hopefully, the sticky patch will grip tight enough. If it doesn't I will glue the pad on instead.

I could also use the gamepad for playing non-turbo games.

Useful extra warmth for winter too.

Am hopeful they solve the , no doubt age related, RSI.

Magicshine Garmin Bar Mount. Looks neat and I'll have it mounted under the bar for my 'spare' MS Hori 1300. The other one is on the commuter.

Upped the spend on the Giant Rock SE MTB upthread to £37 with a pair of almost new Shimano A530 pedals for £12 to go with the pair of 26" slick tyres (£15) and band-on shifters (£8) I bought on Wednesday on top of the £1.20 initial purchase of the bike. Hopefully I'll get most of that back from my listing of the Honda Goldwing seat rest on eBay.

That'll do methinks. Anything else we need can come from the parts shed.

Whilst on holiday up in the Lake District we popped into several cycle shops. We were on a coach tour and had an hour or so to kill in places like Keswick and the like. Not much else to do on a wet stormy day, we had been and had tea and cake. I looked at some pretty bikes but didn't want to spend that much so I bought some handlebar tape. I was looking for a day glow pink but the closest I got was white. I did find some hi vis yellow in another shop though.

Having sold my metallic lime green Carrera magnesium road bike a few years ago (erm ... in 2016, so a bit more than "a few") to a Hungarian student doctor in Leeds I've missed having something I can use without really bothering where it goes / how I use it. It rode beautifully but was just that little bit too small for me. I've several nice Dura-Ace equipped carbon / vintage road bikes but nothing I'd be comfortable using for commuting, which is why I've commuted on a Merida Cyclo-Cross for the past two years. It's useful but 'trundly'. I've also found myself using the flat-bar Giant FCR a lot as a result.

So ... a Carrera Vengeance Magnesium popped up earlier this week at a much higher price and I've been watching the price drop, plus communicating with the seller, and I made a purchase decision earlier. I'll probably swap the components from the Woodrup, letting that frameset go:

They were made by Merida, rather than Carrera's usual manufacturer, where they badged them Merida 909 Magnesium. Whilst it isn't the lime green I'd prefer it'll do nicely for a winter project.

Lol after my bibshorts, knee warmers and chest strap going walkabouts from a secure shower room at the office, I've ordered a new Polar H10 chest strap. If it turns up I'll have a spare.
