Some Van Rysel Bib Shorts: as discussed and recommended right here recently: and because I’ve got ‘niggles’ with the current ones after a couple of hours in the saddle - and I’ve just signed up for a 112 mile ride on the Dunwich Dynamo. With likely another 20 miles on top of that if then have to pedal home from the finish.

I bought 4 pairs of brake blocks as spares for my knockabout 6-speed** bike.

I just fitted new front blocks and my remaining spare pair will soon be needed for the rear brake.

4 pairs were much better value than 1 pair and there was also a 20% off coupon available so buying extra spares was a no-brainer.

It is possible that they will also fit my best bike. That used to use different blocks but I changed the brake cartridges a couple of years ago and I can't remember what type of blocks those take. I will check tomorrow and buy extra spares if they need a different type. (I might as well use the 20% discount while it is available! ** It was a singlespeed but I liked it so much that I wanted a climbing gear so I could get it up the longer/steeper local hills. I added the extra sprockets just to make everything work. I still ride it singlespeed in flatter terrain. For example, on my entire 100 km Garforth forum ride route.

Should be alright for the short ride up to Beccles

Did the Dunwich a couple of years ago and it's a proper cycling experience , I had an AIRB&B booked in Wenhaston for the Sunday evening so after finishing (and a pint of Trawler Boys and breakfast in the Ship),said goodbye to my companions and pooled to Woodbastwick and Southwold to while away some time and then to Wenhaston for the evening (too tired by then for another pint of Trawler Boys at the Star).

Next morning rode up to Naaridge with a stop in Bungay to get a train home.

Some Cinelli handlebars to see if they would fit the Pug 653 project, but weren't needed in the end. I'll keep them for something.

Wider / slightly higher rise Nitto bars for the Trek Hybrid, 2 x 24” Tubes for the Cruiser BMX, got some spare spokes from the LBS for Wheel build 1, both Adjustable pull-ratio Brake levers for the Skyway are now here - and somewhere in there I found a free sticker on the floor that had fallen out of the packaging………

Been on Holiday around there a few times and stayed in Beccles last September for a few days ;the Old Tap and the Old School got frequented a few times as did The Two Magpies.

The start of the Dun can be a bit hectic and you do have to keep an eye/ear out for some of the chain gangs but mostly it's a very relaxed vibe.

A pair of Kenda tyres for use on budget bikes, a pair of Lugano's for the same plus a pair of Bontrager Hard Case for ... yes ... the same. All via eBay auctions. That should solve a shortage of 'budget' tyres for a while.

And, because I've nothing better to do after just swapping from Microshift to Tiagra 10 speed, a pair of Dura-Ace 7801 10 speed shifters for the Carrera Vengeance magnesium. Because they were pretty cheap. The Tiagra ones can then go. And I need some sense.

Bit of a tyre hunt these last days. The other day I ripped a hole into my front tyre, now the tubeless worm is holding and I've covered well over a hundred km with no worries. The fact that the tyre has over 5000 km on it and I'm heading for my summer tour soon means I've decided to replace it.

The problem is WTB tyres are my preferred choice and their going through some supply issues in Germany at the moment. So what to do? Frustratingly many of my other options are out of stock too. So the solution I've landed on is to put my rear tyre, a 45mm WTB Raddler on the front and buy a 40mm Vittoria T50 for the rear. This tyre has covered 1600km so a bit of life left in it. Apparently this combination of WTB and Vittoria should be fine, we'll have to see. I'm just a tad concerned about the width, but it was the widest I could get. Just have to wait for it to arrive now.

I've been pretty good of late, but noticed these on sale from Favero via an FB Advert (Though import fees and duty may well have applied), and then realised the ever reliable Sigma had them for sale at 99p less, so went for it.

I have the Duo's already, and they are faultless - the only thing I dislike about these is those bloody red bits, WHY red???!
I may have to put some yellow vinyl over them........
As a weight comparison, Dura Ace pedals are meant to be around 235g per pair, the above are 247g - bonkers!
I have got some Look carbon/ceramic/titanium/plutonium pedals, but even they are still 190g a pair.

I've placed the order this afternoon in the hope that they are delivered Friday or Saturday as the finance department happen to be away with friends
The initial order thing suggests delivery by Tuesday though, so hoping that is wrong and that a despatch e-mail will land tomorrow
Often I find that high value items tend to get shipped by faster delivery methods, perhaps due to their value and insurance need.
Slightly oddly, most retailers if they offer a delivery to a collection point, it is either free or the same price as normal delivery if they charge, but at Sigma it is £4.99, which seems odd, as it's normally better value to deliver to a collection point as the courier will have more than one drop off.

☝️My gamble/plan worked - dispatched late yesterday, and didn't update on DPD's site until about 20:00, arrived at the local depot at about 02:00, out for delivery earlier, and just arrived now

Got a new GP5000 for my main road bike and fitted it last night - now running 32mm rear and 30mm front with TPUs which seems like a nice set up.

Ah, I hadn't changed the rim brake cartridges (shoes?) - I just found them in my spares box! They have newish blocks fitted so I can just swap them onto the best bike when needed.

I am fairly sure that the new spare blocks that I bought fit these cartridges and I also found another couple of spares so I probably have enough to last me several years now, given that 3/5 of my bikes have disk brakes.

What else have I bought...? Well, I treated myself to a very large quantity of cardboard and Sellotape, sold to me at a bargain price by @sevenfourate... He even chucked in a free pair of new wheels/disks/tyres/tubes. The latter will be fitted to my winter/bad weather bike (CAADX) over the weekend.
