I’ve been pondering ‘better’ pedals for the Skyway:

I wanted:

1. Something with longer / metal spikes.
2. Silver / Plated - not Black spindle end.
3. Known brand and made of resin.

The only possible downside is these Shimano I’ve bought might be a shade too light in colour. *MIGHT be a trade-off I have to live with if 1+2 are must haves; as I’ve been looking for a while and can really find nothing else 🤷‍♂️

Had enough of my ‘bottles’ moving, spinning around inside my Carbon cages. The Tool bottle - which sits pretty upright - on the seat tube is ok. The drinks bottle on the down tube is forever moving, spinning around - and it narks me 🙄

Hopefully: a couple of these adjustable cages to suit different bottle diameters; which have a couple of rubber grippers built into the cage itself - should sort that problem out……

Shimano pedals returned 🙄 Glad I did too….

Because these Burgtec feel an altogether different quality (Solid, but spin really smoothly) - for the same kind of price.

Same actual bearings (Not bushes), Cro-moly Axle, Silver thread; but this time the shade is a SPOT-ON match for my Skyway ✅

Now about to buy some Stainless Steel pins - and they will be an awesome upgrade to a component I wasn’t ecstatic with 🙏

A new rear brake hose, I can't work out where my phantom leak is coming from so I'm just going to assume it's a pinhole somewhere where the hose runs through the frame....

I am hoping to do a 115+ km ride round/over Dartmoor next week and two 600 mL bottles will not be enough for the ride. Maybe I could find somewhere en route to buy refills, but I would rather play safe and carry what I need. So...

... I had a look on eBay at various hydration bladder options. I have owned Camelbak backpacks in the past, and they do the job, but I find that they make my back too sweaty. Then I saw a bumbag variation which I liked the look of, and will eliminate that issue.

I sniped the auction with 10 seconds to go and secured my prize for £21.56 incl. postage and buyer protection. A very good deal!

Just picked up a Brompton branded Cateye 500lm front light for £16 off eBay, I’ve got three now, one on each Brompton and one on my Van Nicholas, Ì didn’t pay any more than £20 for any of them and one was brand new, it’s definitely worth being patient and waiting for one to pop up for auction, they never sell for much and are £60 new.

A new hollowtech bottom bracket. Can't complain as the original one lasted 11000 miles.
