Had a £30 voucher for Halfrauds (compo for a complaint) so thought I may as well spend it on a 12 speed chain and an inner tube for the spares box.

Last few bits arrived from the USA today; for my 1 of 85 Units / Ltd Edition, Skyway BMX Cruiser F+F build. It’s a USA made frame; and Red / White / Blue colours often therefore get used in varying degrees on these bikes - and you can probably see where I’m headed with mine…..

Frame and Forks get released this coming Friday. Then along with bars and wheels: the lot will be posted to the UK. Not long now….😁

Sigma have a pretty decent sale on currently, which ends today I think, and there's an extra 10 percent codey thing.

Splurged on a pair of these hot weather Castelli shorts with the wonderful (for me) Progetto X2 pad - £77 delivered.

Thin shorts

Also, considering trying to find a small road bike locally in Spain for my daughter, as she claims she wants to try riding out there with me.......

I've found a Laura Trott RD2, front cogs are spot on, rear is a disappointing 12-28 - so I suspect I'd need to fit a new RD, and an appropriate cassette, probably a 12-36 or 11-34.
It's a Tiagra 10 spd - anyone spot any big problems there?

You won't need a new RD, possibly a longer cage to increase cassette size from 12-28 to 12-34/36 and a longer chain. Only issue I'd say is if you go say 12-36 on a 10 speed there's quite a gap between cogs. Tiagra though is fine.

Thanks Binky, I have started a new post on this in a different page, as I think there might be some complications with the Tiagra 10spd, specific to that groupset - or a version of the 10 spd.

New thread here if anyone would like to contribute :-) New shiny thread

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
A few bits in the 'pair' theme;

- Two pairs of Shimano A530 flat/SPD pedals plus a pair of Shimano 2300 triple shifters as a batch. I don't need the shifters so they'll go back on sale.
- A new pair of Shimano Sora flat bar shifters, that might go onto the Giant FCR in the Spring.
- A new pair of Specialized Torch 2.0 shoes

24” Cruiser BMX Wheels from the USA:

Aluminium Double wall rims, DT Swiss 15g Stainless spokes, Polished High flange SE Hubs, sealed bearings blah blah. Should be ‘the bomb’ 👌

Thankyou very much. Yes absolutely ! The researching, choosing, investigating, planning the geometry, gearing, colours etc - is often perhaps as or more enjoyable than arriving at the ‘perfect’ finished product per-se - after all due diligence.

I’m actually making room by selling another one built from scratch this weekend; that I’ve never rolled a single wheel on. Too many bikes - and while I’ve lost a few hundred quid: I really enjoyed doing it at the time. Such is life and I’ve zero regrets. Onto the next as you say. This one is a little ‘special’ though. And absolutely is planned to feature in the ridden reasonably often category. F+F should be posted or arriving with retailer for swift despatch: tomorrow. My Chrome polish is primed and ready 🤣

Sometimes money does`nt really come in to it. It is the enjoyment of doing these things. When I think how much I have spent on upgrading my Claude Butler from 2010, but there again I don`t. To me it is still a good bike, my winter bike. When it is cleaned it is like new. The enjoyment of ordering the parts and fitting. Still, 25000 miles on, it is like Trigger`s broom, only the frame is original. Tell me I`am not sad !

@cyberknight I could potentially be, would you mind measuring the pit to pit measurement unstretched, and also the front unstretched, I suppose basically the length of the zip really!

Are they thin / summer jerseys would you say?

Dropped you a DM too.
