I know that us cyclists are quite resourceful. I have two hi-viz light jackets, one of which has very billowy sleeves and so I rarely use that one for cycling. The body part is just a good fit so I thought what if I cut the sleeves off and make it into a gilet. Looking at the sleeves they are trimmed where they are attached to the body. I thought well I was going to bin it anyway so lets give it a try. Sleeves cut off and you`d never know, unless up really close that it was`nt a gilet. Job done, no more flapping material and just a good lightweight covering as an outer layer to temper the breeze. Why did I not think of doing it before ?

Adjusted the cockpit of the new commuter: lowered the stem, changed the position of the Ergopowers more upwards, turned the handlebar downwards a few degrees. The test ride confirmed that it is a bit better now.

Edit. Done. A 2mm and a 1.85mm spacer

fitted. Minor adjustment to mech limit.

Well, next week if I get a tail wind. Works fine on the stand, not changed the index for the other gears, so in theory, shouldn't ghost shift over bumpy root broken tarmac. Only the 15T (6th) would bounce off occasionally to the 13T.

Re did the rear tyre after it went down on the way home yesterday, hole was rim side so replaced rim tape and a new tube .

Put all the bikes away properly as they were strewn across the passage, shed and the house.
Then cleaned and sharpened all the secateurs.

Do you take out the central pivot, clean and grease it ? If not, its well worth doing.

Cleaned the Ridley Fenix after a few filthy rides out. It's ready for a planned 200k audax on Sunday but, if it's cold and wet, I won't be riding that far.

Have you tested it yet to see if it did the job?

The 0.8mm has done the job. Tail wind so into the huge 44x15 and it didn't drop into the 13 sprocket despite the roots under the tarmac path.

Not always, the main ones we use are two pairs of Felcos and one pair of Niwaki so they mostly just need the blades cleaning.
