Chopper Squad,Wow I forgot all about that.
That was quite a good show
Loved it as kid but have only managed to find one episode in more recent years... it was tiresome; 40 minutes of nothing happening then five minutes of helicopters. Back in the day i was probably playing with Lego so was otherwise engaged in the boring bits.

King of the Rocket Men was often aired in the school holidays. It was dated in the 70s but still enjoyable to an 8 year old me. Tried re-watching that in more recent years and it's hard work.

I was very chuffed to find a DVD box set of Kung Fu in a charity shop. Loved that as a kid but my lord it's slower than a slow thing. Even the fight scenes are atrocious. Dreadful. Absolutely dreadful.

But a lot of stuff i watched as a kid I've still enjoyed as an adult... but that's a different thread.

That was the good old days, you forgot the filming of the teams going to John Collier or Burtons to get their cup final suits, and the cup final record that every team seemed to make. 😂

In the 1970's the BBC's FA Cup Final showing was always followed by The Pink Panther, around 5.15. Though if the game went into extra-time they'd skip the Pink Panther and go straight to the evening news.😉

I thought this was a thread about remade TV shows, eg All Creatures Great and Small.

The original series was compulsory family viewing... am unsure I want to try the 2020 reboot.

The original show was a highlight of my time then. Likewise, I was reluctant to watch any reboot. But eventually curiosity got the better of me and I was very pleasantly surprised, the reboot has been thoroughly enjoyable. Conversely, I recently watched a ‘Christmas special’ of the original series and found it incredibly dull, nowhere near as good as my memory of it.

I agree, but to be fair, just imagine the amount of work that must have gone into that and other similar titles.

For me, it and others have a sort of neutrality when it comes to these things.

... It's still as clichéd as anything though.

The other day found some old recordings of the TV series Lexx https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexx

Bit like Babylon 5 without the bubble wrap or as the Independent reviewed it "a wacky German-Canadian sci-fi import for people who find Babylon 5] too cerebral".

My recording so old that the media have deteriorated so not all episodes still readable. Watched the 1st (extended?) episode and it was OK, certainly for it's day. Unsure if I'll bother watching more.
