Have I beat Accy in the thread title length? 😂
As the title says really, I thought I'd start this off to avoid the Eurovision 2026 thread going off topic too much.
The News.

I should've posted this yesterday, seeing as it was FA Cup Final day. I remember watching the whole build up to the 3pm kick off, swapping channels from BBC to ITV, either on our black & white or newly bought colour tv, to see the fans arriving, the team buses arriving, the 'It's A Knockout' between some of the finals two sets of fans, 'meet the players families', etc etc. Both channels started their cup final coverage at about 10am, going right through to the cameras switching to Wembley to show the teams players walking onto the pitch to 'sample the atmosphere' in their matching suits and permed hair. Then we had the brass band playing Abide With Me before the players came out to be presented to the royal guest. I only watched the actual match yesterday on my phone, missing any pre match build up, if there was any to miss. In short, the tv coverage of the FA Cup Final was one of the big television eve ts of the year, but it seems that now it's just another football match shown on tv.
Space 1999,
I used to watch this religiously when I was a kid.
It was always shown on a Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock after Weekend World.
I used to take in the Sci fi program quite seriously and found some parts a little bit scarey, but watching the re runs nowadays I just find it so corny, but nostalgic
Which brings to mind "Buck Rogers ..." although I suspect "he" wasn't what many viewers watched for.Space 1999,

The Sweeny. Great in it's day, but looks terribly dated now.
Ditto Minder.

We would watch repeats of both as kids in the '90s' and just slag them off terribly! 😆Which brings to mind "Buck Rogers ..."
I never touch re - makes. Some things should just be left alone!I thought this was a thread about remade TV shows, eg All Creatures Great and Small.
The original series was compulsory family viewing... am unsure I want to try the 2020 reboot.
