Sympathies regarding the Gout, having suffered I'd say removing the offending toe with a blunt machete would be less painful. Fortunately I'm right handed so not so compromised, but it's only a matter of time I think.

Pop an Allopurinol every day..... Totally cured mine unless I eat asparagus.
In addition to the gout, I have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, bi lateral dupytrens contracture, possible brochiectasis

there you have my sympathy. I have bronchiectasis along with posteral membrane tracheomalachia and severe asthma. I now have a hypertonic saline neubilser to treat the bronchiectasis and since going on to it have been pretty free of antibiotics needed to treat reoccurring chest infections. I still get the green flem, but it doesn't develop too far or stay too long now!

Several autoimmune diseases which cause me no end of bother! Just had biopsies done to check if I have cancer, if they come back negative I have to be scanned every 6 months to make sure. Quite a big mental burden. My medical history is horrendously complicated and always will be unfortunately.

Comparing to my friends and workmates of a similar age, a worrying proportion already have bodies which are falling apart, wasnt sure if this was normal and people put up with lots without saying anything or I just happen to know a lot of particularly unhealthy or unlucky people? !

sadly the same is true here, hence why I haven't listed anything... all you can do is ignore what they think you might have and not bother finding out about it until it is confirmed you have it. anything else and you (read I) would be depressed for life and way too down to carry on fighting. I only find out about conditions I am confirmed as having, then I learn them well because several of them are rare and medical staff often have not come across patients with them, so often have to tell them what is needed to treat me in an emergency!
Not much fun is it?
