Dell, Heavens Gate, no, no, no............
the Western, I've tried, and generally failed, to get my kids interested, I still like them. the early ones, the glory years, the spaghetti stuff and the slight revitalisation, they've all had their moments. As a kid I have fond memories of things like Chisum, The Alamo, True Grit, The Professionals, The Magnificent Seven and the countless others. Things got pretty interesting with harder hitting ones like Once Upon a Time in the West, The Wild Bunch, The Spaghetti stuff, The Outlaw Josey Wales, High Planes Drifter, Pale Rider.....yada, yada. One offs like Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid stand out, one of my first cinematic experiences, A Man Called Horse, Soldier Blue.
Top of the heap has to be Unforgiven and the stand out in that was Gene Hackmans bully boy sherrif.
