I’ll be doing a short 50 permanent this week; Don’t Forget Your Halo!

Update 19/02/2026:
Completed the Audax today after a 6-2 shift, a nice route on roads I’m sort of familiar with but took me longer than I expected. However, Grane Rd out of Haslingden to the second control is much better now they’ve added average speed cameras! I did that road once years ago before the cameras and it was not fun then as the 50mph was ignored with cars zooming towards the M65 so I was a little apprehensive. Still I’d recommend avoiding rush hour if you can. It does say this on the Audax description too but it was the only way I was going to fit it in this week.

Tenby-Twywn 400 on Good Friday night. Looks a bit hilly!
Very early in the year for a 400, but it's something different so I'm giving it a go with my Clubmate from India. Just receibed the charmingly retro routesheet. How can you not love this sort of thing:

Retrace route to Machynlleth, following the A487 south direction Aberystwyth along
the Dyfi estuary, the via Furnace. In Talybont 288km, turn left passing Y Llew Gwyn
(The White Lion) pub to follow the small road [SP Bontgoch (Elerch), Nantymoch], all
the way up to Nant Y Moch pass 257km, then along past the reservoir, over the dam
then down to Ponterwyd. Turn right onto the A44 for ≤1 km to the BP garage.

(resisted the temptation to render this in Ye Olde Worlde font)

That's the kind of cue sheet I use and prefer. So much more informative than a device with mundane 'bread crumbs'.
