I'm with y'all on the champagne front... a bottle of cava's just as good, and it's all a bit underwhelming anyway. Nice bottle of Rioja, that's me sorted. Caviar... fishy stuff... nice enough, but what's all the fuss about, eh? . Oreos... no no no. tgo biscuits that taste of shaving foam and make your tongue black... give me a jammy dodger or a custard cream and I'll thank you for it, and no mistake.
And that flipping Findlay Quaye... he isn't food, but I've just listened to an old song or two of his on Spotify, and I was underwhelmed.

Any kind of meat. I don't eat much of it anyway, but I keep trying it - every time I do, I think it just wasn't worth the hassle. One of these days I'll learn!

There may be a chance for you. My Mum didn't like olives, until one day when she about 50 and at a party, she tried one again and found she loved it. I know a couple of other people whov'e had similar experiences with olives. Possibly they suit a more mature taste.

Toy with the black ones first, I find they have a less bitter flavour...

I've tried all sorts Arch. Mrs GM can eat them until they come out of her ears, so I get offered Black ones,Green ones, some with cheese in and some soaked in Garlic. Still can't stand them even at my age.

Spot on there, mate. Hate Oreos - American rubbish. They know it's rubbish, too - anyone seen their latest ad campaign to win over the British public? - cute little girl trying to get her dad to eat Oreos? Don't do it!

Champers is excellent if you have a good one. We've got some 1996 Dom Perignon at home, that is rather nice. Think there is only one bottle left now though.

I am sure it is incredibly good but @ that value I'd be selling and buying a case of something (just) very good.

Back to the OP.
Asparagus, Salmon, Truffles (only had white), Avocado, all edible but nothing special at all, and I agree with whoever it was that said curry, I just don't get why so many people rave about it.

Another vote for Oysters. I tried them in Oban on the Scottish coast straight from the quayside. One without anything on it, didn't dislike it but did nothing for me, one with tabasco sauce and one with lemon juice. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy them again.

all washed down with an ice cold bottle of Alhambra beer.

This obsession with having everything chilled. STOP IT!! Not all of us want to run the risk of hurting our sensitive teeth on very cold things, and then proceed to be effin' freezing afterwards into the bargain!!
Yes, some of us like things (like beer) to be a little bit warmer, so stop putting it all in the fridge because you think that every single person the on planet agrees with you!!

What is 10 times worse is when you deliberately leave something out of the fridge, and some twat comes along, thinks there has so obviously been some mistake, and puts it in the damn fridge, and then can't understand why you are just a tad miffed about it!

Come the revolution.... come the revolution!!

especially chocolat chip mint ice cream.

Really, seriously, why do people wax lyrical over that stuff?? I mean, I'm not entirely keen on mint anyway, so.... chocolate.... great.... ice cream... great..... mint..... *puke*.

It is like eating toothpaste!

GAH!!
