The pictures of pets thread upset me. Someone posted a picture of pet rock that looked just like one we had. Sadly hard times befell us, and we couldn't afford to keep it. We couldn't find it a home, so had to throw it in the river in a sack weighted down with puppies.

As it's last name was White, I called it Isla. It was a close call when she was courting Bryan Ferry's rock, as she fancied a double barreled name.

When you tot up the full externalities of running a car - the pollution you create (noise, particulate and CO2), the other people you encourage to run a car, the costs of the roads you drive on, the additional cost to the NHS because you're less healthy - your taxes come to considerably less than the true cost to the economy of your choice. So you are being subsidised by running a car.
