Lol!

It also has a fuel warning light, an oil warning light, an engine management system and a digital speedo with a temperature gauge and a clock!

Both around a decade old because nothing better has come along since.

Blimey, lots of motor bikers here - more bikes than cycles.

Unfortunately, I'm sure I'd kill myself on an engine powered 'bike'...... I try pretty hard on a pedal bike :becool:

Years ago I owned a Honda CB100, was fine for my commuting uses. Rode it down from London to Devon a few times, was a hoot. Wanted something bigger but graduated to my first company car, was getting married and a Motorcycle was an unnecessary bit of frippery. Kept the fixie though!

Hankering after a 'Proper' scooter now just for bimbling around, running into Oxford etc...

Blimey, there's load of us!! :becool:

Sold my 954 Fireblade last summer. Third Fireblade I'd owned. Just got fed up with going everywhere at warp factor 9, and it wasn't much fun at sensible speed. So I flogged it and bought a BMW R1150R Rockster at a very decent price. Nice bike and all that, fast enough, comfy, decent motor and gearbox, but bloody hell, it was so heavy. The Blade weighed £170kg or something like that, The Rockster was getting on for 250. So I flogged that too. Only had it six weeks but made £500.00 profit!! :becool:

Really miss the Fireblade but it was time for it to go. A brilliant bike, did everything very well -track, tour, commute - just brilliant.

Posh. Mine has fuel warning - it stops when it runs out. Takes unleaded too...after you've added the additive from the squeezy bottle. So there. :becool:

I was one of the first candidates going through training on BC's Motorcycle Escort Group. I did the Romford-Harlow Premier race in 2001 after an appeal from the organiser for motorcyclists with cycle racing experience in CW. I then had an assessment ride with an experienced escort who was also an IAM assessor, got through that ok but then moved to the other side of the country and sort of drifted out of the idea.

Great to do, but bloody hard work escorting a cycle race.

Must be in 1st gear all the time and on the clutch a lot!

I honestly think that the best vehicle for escorting a cycle race is ... (don't laugh) ... a tractor! Because of the gearing - I reckon they're much easier to drive at bicycle speeds.

Believe me, a Premier Calender race does not hang about. The biggest danger is being caught out on a descent when you suddenly find yourself having to accelerate to 60mph to get clear of a fast moving bunch.

A tractor would soon find itself swamped by cursing riders.

That's the reason I sold mine, I just found myself pushing it too much and decided to sell it before I did anything stupid.
