I dislike 'golfy' types. It's irritating that a lot of 'golfy' types are moving to cycling, but there's naff all I can do about it, so meh.

What's a 'golfy' type?

Like cycling, I took up golf in my mid-teens and I still play regularly - though old age has taken my handicap up to 11 over the last couple of years. Golf may not require great physical effort, but that's more than compensated by the mental attributes required to play the game to a reasonable level. Golf is a great way of getting outdoor exercise and mental stimulation - and a lot safer than commuting in rush-hour traffic on a bike. The only thing that's missing is the endorphin hit that makes cycling so much fun.
