Thanks for all the suggestions re booze, fun recreational drugs. I do hope this is not the case as she is 9 years old and hopefully unlikely to turn into a drug crazed alcoholic for another year or so.
EVA. The midsoles of most brands of running shoes are bonded with ethylyn-vinyl-acetate which contains urea obtained from cat pee. Nike used to be the worst offenders so I wouldn't buy their shoes but now, clearly, ASICS have followed suit and their trainers smell of cat pee after about a month of use.I'm not 100% sure that they have ever pee'd in that room. Is there anything else which smells of cat wee wee?
Try a Felliway plug in
Eh?That sounds a bit extreme and I suspect the RSPCA would have something to say about it
I think he suspects you are advocating plugging into something feline and sensitive
Ah right, okI think he suspects you are advocating plugging into something feline and sensitive![]()
I'm surprised no one has suggested dusting off and nuking the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure. You can never really get rid of the smell, is the heating on in the room as when it gets warm, the smell is worse. You need to scrub the area
So, following the original logic. Get the dog back and get rid of the boy. Seems reasonable ;-)Many years ago our neighbours got rid of their dog after it had been peeing in their son's bedroom. Then it turned out to have been the little boy all along!
I'm sure it's not your daughter though!
Yes and this has been my main suspicion over the last few days but I wanted to see if anyone suggested it. I used PVA on some crumbling mortar around one of the window reveals and put some foam backed insulating lining paper around that area to try to counter the cold bridging there. The smell is sort of coming from that area...Did you redecorate the room? My ex-wife used to work for a decorating company. It was not unheard of to get a chemical reaction from some paints and other DIY materials to get a "cat-pee-esque" smell.
If you have any left then take it back to where you bought it. They will send it off to the manufacturers to test it. But it wouldn't surprise me.Yes and this has been my main suspicion over the last few days but I wanted to see if anyone suggested it. The leak that was there has now been sorted but![]()
