I reckon the tactic would be to head into a more central region as you head towards the end of the evade period.

In 'Hunted', it's the place where the contestants have to be at a certain time, usually to get on a boat or summat. If you get on the boat or whatever, you win a share of the prize.

The extraction point is witheld until near the end, with the hunters not getting informed about where it is.
