This beautiful old tree is thriving despite it having been brutalised & decimated - a good part of the trunk is gone. I wonder if it was lightning?
It wouldn't look out of place in one of Caspar David Friedrich's paintings.

i thought the yew I posted upthread might be in the english list but they seem to have selected another yew.
