You've been making beans on toast wrong says Heinz.

Oh no don't do that. Coconut, especially the water is food of the gods, great anti inflammatory and especially cheap here.

Have you ever had the shell come off and leave the flesh completely intact like a hard boiled egg?

Never done that. Could be difficult as sometines the flesh can be very soft.

I do not toast or butter the bread. That way the sauce seeps into the bread. It is always 2 slices of bread and 2 fried eggs on top of the beans.

We can therefore ignore everything Heinz says on the matter of beans on toast. What do Branston say we should do?

A good point so I contacted them and got a very quick reply.
To summarise they make the following points.
•1 or 2 slices of bread. preferably wholemeal but other types will do
•toast to suit an lightly spread with butter.
•lightly spread with Marmite
•evenly place thin slices of cheddar cheese all over (this will prevent soggy toast)
•heat beans (shaken well) and pour on top of cheese.
•allow approx 1 minute for cheese to start melting then 'stuff your face'.

Now this is direct from Branston so you know it is true.

On the topic of Gods own preferred toast topping Marmite, I have read that since being acquired by Multinational Unilever. Marmite is a pale imitation of its former self, and that the Marmite " XO " that they market at a significant premium is closer to the original.
Others have commented that Morrisons own brand is like the original Marmite.

Good morning,

@Cycleops have you ever had or heard of the McDonalds breakfast item; The Cheesy Bacon Flatbread?

https://www.mcdonalds.com/gb/en-gb/product/cheesy-bacon-flatbread.html

If I were to describe it as a toasted cheese and bacon sandwich it would sound wonderful and ripe for the addition of a cheap ingredient such as baked beans.

As ever the photographer for the above link did an excellent job.

Bye

Ian

I also find I get a bit irritated by someone (the manufacturer in this case) telling me I'm doing something wrong. I'm not doing it wrong, I'm doing it my way to suit my preferences. Same for everyone else.
Give us some credit for chrissakes
