CLS Crit and Grit tonight! (It's flat Whorty) Again, just practice races the real race series begins Saturday. Tues and Thurs are mini-races 30mins to 45mins with Saturdays being 1-1.5hr races! Races feature 'primes' which are intermediate sprint points every time you go under the finish banner loop. I really can't wait! I'm very close to the top of cat C now in regards to FTP (not skill) so hopefully I'll do well!

Awesome IRL ride today of 125 miles. My stamina felt fine but knees were aching at the end. That's age for you.
Well, there's somebody who knows they can smash the ToC distance :okay: How long did it take you (moving time)?

Edit : just saw your Strava feed. Your speed is my target at ToC which should see me finish in about 6 hours (moving time). With the odd stop I should be on the course about 6hrs 20 mins. How did you find that speed/ride? Easy? Estimated ave power is nice and low so I know I shouldn't need to bust a ball all day to do it.

Thanks.. D.Bull (CLS C) I'm in the cyclechat strava group.

Race report: I don't want to talk about it!:laugh::laugh:
Can't find you on ZwiftPower. Are you registered there? We take race results from there for the league (as the Zwift screen or companion app times differ). To get yourself in the league register on ZwiftPower, join the CycleChat team on there and it will be easy to add your times to the league :okay:

Ok then I'll discuss!

I thought I'd do really well going into the race because I had an FTP increase last week putting me right at the top of cat C. The race should have lasted about 40 minutes for cat C riders so I was hoping to average around 3.5 w/kg. The plan with the primes was to stay in the blob and half sprint for a solid position each lap saving something for the last lap double points.

With 22 C's in the pen the race was 4 laps of London Classique with a 5-6km 'warm up' before the first lap. Starting the first lap all was good if a little sweaty, group already whittled to 12 riders. Quick first lap but still in the group when it came to the first sprint point and I think I took 4th. Survived to the little bump in the road about 2km from the next lap banner and got shot completely out the back! A lone rider was about a minute back so I eased up and got on his wheel for a lap before he went too. I finished in 13th. Just waiting for the points to be uploaded to see where that first lap put me, hopefully I made the top 10 but might be a long shot.

My avg... 2.7 w/kg I know I sat up but come on. Heat? Lack of hydration or fuelling? Just pants lol?

How do I compare my 20m/ 5m/ 1m etc power to my overall best? I have a feeling the numbers are way down.

I've updated the TdW league with what I think are the latest results. Let me know if you think I've missed anything. Not sure when I'll do the stage. I appear to have gained a few Kg's whilst been away

Great work as always @peterob. I'm going to have to find time for another crack at stage 4 as I can't see my stage 2 advantage protecting me once you lot get a go at stage 4

I look at the Power Curve on Strava for that. Or TrainerRoad if you have it.

I saw zwift power has a power curve I assume that's very similar to the Strava one? Looking at the numbers I'm right to be unhappy with tonight I think. I'm comparing my numbers from the end of January in a race I did which lasted 28 minutes. Today I stuck with the front group around 30 minutes so a good comparison.
20m down from 3.2 w/kg to 3.0
5m down 3.8 to 3.3
1m down 5.0 to 4.2
15s down 6.5 to 6.3

January was the first time riding since last summer and by the time of that race I'd done roughly 225m. As of today I've done 725m so an extra 500m of training in my legs. My numbers should be going up not down? Maybe I need to look at how I'm utilising my riding time and shake things up a bit in regards to training? Maybe it was just an off day and poor nutrition? I do have a stabbing sensation in my thighs tonight, which has eased since after the ride.
