I did a little race this afternoon - one lap WBR - and Jacob from the Danish team was in the A Cat. He came 4th in what looks like was a sprint finish. watts per kilo at 5 though so he may get penalised. The other 3 riders in the top 4 were below were below the magic number of 5.

I came last (8th) out of the B riders, but again, had I ridden C I would have podiumed as 2nd. It was classed as a hilly course so pleased to be only beaten by one C rider  I ended up after the first few minutes with two other riders, one C and one B. We slowly swallowed up a few C riders to create a group of about 6. The we wittled this down to 4 and then the fellow B rider pulled away. Left the 3 of us to ride the last 4km together, sharing the front. 500 metres out one tried to pull away but I marked him until 300 to go when I upped the power and won the sprint. Those 2 were 2nd and 3rd on the podium for C cat so I did well to beat them I think.

Well done Carl. Seen your watts on Strava. Looks like this was mixed cat's but keep racing in B not C. You will get more zp points

I have started a 7 day training plan with Sufferfest in anticipation of doing their ftp equivalent 4DP test next sunday. That's if the yoga doesn't kill me off beforehand. I had to choose between this and TR, which is helping so many of you, Andy, lee, Tommy, Andy at least but decided to go with Sufferfest mainly because of the yoga. Once the 4DP test is done that should guide the next training plan going forward.

Definitely. Last 2 races show that I would have won one and 2nd in other had I gone to C so I'd rather be in B where it is more challenging and I race against faster people. My watts/kilo are 3.1 which is just below B cat lower level, but with some effort I should be able to increase that and be more competative. All good fun :okay:

His numbers don't really tally with the other racers and results

Carl, I know you are in the middle of lejog but perhaps try and do some long sustained efforts too. At least 50km and perhaps with a nasty climb thrown in too so you make from sustained effort into something that taxes you aerobically. You will need to fuel for them but they are hugely important in building stamina and enabling you to build on your power. I did this 2-3 times per week in the autumn with a nice 30w plus jump in ftp with 3 kilo weight loss.

@bridgy your FTP is estimated within Zwiftpower whilst mine, Bobs and everyone who uses a power meter is not estimated. So even ZP have noticed bkool pro possibly?
I thought it best to answer this here.

I've never actually entered my FTP on Zwftpower (or done an actual FTP test on Zwift for that matter) so maybe this is why it's showing as estimated? It says on my profile that I should input my FTP for accurate results. I've no idea what it is without opening zwift and checking which I've never bothered to do because it's not really of interest to me - but I might input it and see if it changes as a result...

Update: yes that was it - I looked it up and actually input it on ZP and it's no longer showing as estimated
