Telling you how to suck eggs... but take it easy Del. It’s frustrating feeling like your fitness is slipping away but it’ll come back bud. Get well soon!
Cheers @TurboTommy

Yes it is frustrating. Felt like I was riding really well before this struck and, as you say, the inevitable fear is that its all going to fall away.

And yes, that is nonsense. I’ve played sport for years and recovered from similar things, but when it happens its still a pisser.

I suppose it proves that getting older doesn’t really kill off your competitive sporting instincts........... and that’s a good thing really!

there's a Strava segment (but it's hidden so go to the hidden button). Just climb, go around the top and descend as normal then when you pass the climb start place turn around and climb again. Once climbed, just follow the road around the top and descend past the start climb banner.

:okay:
I guess the ride way to do it is select jungle circuit and heading to alpe. Jungle circuit will set you to right spot to start.

Yes, that's what I do. Fastest way to get into the Alpe. Gives me about 10 mins warmup that way before the climbing starts. I just find with the Road to the Sky that you're climbing in the first minute or so and there isn't enough time to warm up properly.

When I was ill over Christmas I was like you ... I could ride OK in zone 2, but if I pushed it then things went south very quickly! I was therefore just doing the lighter rides to keep my legs turning, and the guilt away, but forcing myself to hold back in races (I know, easier said than done). I'm definitely fitter and strong now than I was over Christmas so hopefully that will give you the knowledge that a few easy weeks won't be too bad for you :okay:

That’s good to hear.

Did it help your recovery to keep riding in Zone 2? My inclination is too keep doing this and I checked it with the doctor today.

There’s no way I could race at the moment, so I want to do what I can to keep the legs turning.

My doc said it was fine to continue riding so long as I didn't push myself and make myself ill. I was having asthma attacks due to the chest infection so was on antibiotics and steroids, whether I was riding or not! I did try to push a couple of times but this just resulted in coughing fits so I just reigned it back. It probably helped having a couple of easy weeks - it's not something I normally do so my body was thankful I think. I certainly didn't come out the other side of it any worse off.

I can’t see either. I try to follow Lee in Strava but he didn’t accept my request and Andy either. What are they hiding :headshake:^_^
I dont know your name mate - will accept if you let me know , when you do races , sometimes a lot of people request things so I just ignore - deleted ride from other night just incase people started analysing it
