I wouldn't call cycling my hobby, however building up old frames into working bikes and improving the bikes I have along with 'fettling' them definitely is.

I only have an ft817 currently, I used to contest on 6m quite regularly, it was my favourite band. Currently I have an HB9CV for 2m.
I've got a dual band Slimjim J Pole hooked up to a BF-F8HP and it hits all of my local repeaters (except the nearest one which has the widest coverage but annoyingly is DStar). What sort of gain are you getting from the Yagi over, lets say, a standard dipole. Me too, but I'm a serious amateur. Do lots of training under a variety of scenarios.Drinking, but only to be sociable.
