I wish it was.

Diesel @ £1.62/litre = £7.35/gallon
Beer @ £4.55/pint (which is what I paid on Tuesday night) = £36.40/gallon!

That is expensive beer!

Though it is still over £2 per pint in every pub/bar I know of.

In supermarkets, it is often less than that, but still usually more than £2 per litre, so still really a bit more than diesel.

I['m teetotal, so had to ask the price of beer
But, yes, I concur........... & £46/gallon for primarily water

The tax on petrol/diesel is 52p/litre (I think?), so what is it on beer?
Fuel also has VAT in that cost, I presume beer doesn't??

Beer has VAT on the 'total selling price' this is after the alcohol duty has been paid so it is a Tax on a Tax too.
