Same here. For an allegedly talented actress she manages to pick dull rubbish after dull rubbish and generally turns out wooden performance after wooden performance - While You Were Sleeping was her last decent display. TBH I can't understand why she is so popular. She does have a reputation of working hard, turning up on time, knowing her stuff and getting on with everyone on set, but that's no use on my side of the screen.
Perhaps there are two Sandra Bullocks. The one who does the Hollywood blockbusters and who is somewhat and sometimes guilty of turning in performances in the way you describe. But the evidence for the defence there rests on a number of noteworthy performances including Crash and the one which deservedly won her a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and an Oscar in The Blind Side.

Then there is also the other Sandra Bullock who does indie films and art house movies and is a brilliant and deservedly popular actor with a genius for playing quirky characters.

It's excellent for that.
It will suit me then. Dark room. Large screen and headphones.

Sh'es popular due to the movie "Speed" that set her on the scales. Ever since then, she's been a known name.

Never really understood why Sandra Bullock seems to get such a hard time, she's been in some films I've enjoyed over the years: Demolition Man, Speed, The Net*, A Time to Kill, Miss Congeniality, Infamous and now Gravity.

*This is actually terrible, but for some reason I love it. Probably due to the terrible-ness

Admittedly, she has done some right bollocks.

+ 1 had to leave the cinema and sadly the wife to finish watching it. Graphics or not I just could not see how so few characters could hold my interest for so long.
It's not the characters that should have kept you, it was the thought of her not making it. The way she had one chance to grab something or she's done was intense.
