Perhaps you and dbeattie would be happier somewhere else? There are plenty of sexist cycling fora to choose from.

This is a Kona Dewey

You could also consider this Pinnacle Lithium, bit less money.

Even cheaper is this Tiger Cobalt. However, any pharmacist should know that the molecule on the top tube and the forks is actually Adrenalin...

You do get rural pharmacies as well, with rural pharmacists

@dbeattie one of my bikes is the Pinnacle shown up thread.
I bought it for the really low touring gears, it's great on hills, but a bit over geared for town. If your daughter in law is young and fit (I'm neither lol) she might not like spinning like mad.
Also the look is more mbike than townie bike.
Because of the very distinctive look of the bike, I don't use it for commuting as I feel it attracts thieves.

Right, well, if she's a pharmacist and her mum is a librarian, then that narrows down the choice to only one option really..

Hahaha....... S-Express, as a MAMIL I have to say that IMHO you have wandered slightly OT and although a fine example of a velocipede, the machine in your picture does not have the thin pipes stated by the OP..........and anyway, everyone knows the classic pharmacist/librarian set-up is a Raleigh Chopper.

Seriously though......... the Pendleton range are probably worth a look.
