The Street! how could i forget Jimmy McGovern at his absolute best? Excellent stories, excellent actors, excellent everything. His follow up series, The Accused is still good, but not as good as The Street.

My favourite episode were 'Spider' (about the design and building of the Lunar Lander) and the one about the wifes (not a subject normally touched when you look at the space race).

I've never thought much of American telly, probably for the reason DZ identifies (it's written by committee), but we enjoyed Heroes.
