Cheque Book

The second, in bold, is set to be renamed the first.
They're not closing a Lloyds branch, just relocating it.

SO they effectively have 2 branchs on one high street at the moment

OK - makes sense

What's this thing you call a "bank branch"

I saw an article about one in a very old history book

They are quite rare.

Someone posted me cheque only yesterday, they don’t do ‘on-line’ banking. Now I have the feckin’ faff of paying it in.

I'll take it off your hands if you don't want it.

I do have a cheque book. Can't remember when I last used it.

A while back, I saw someone walking into my local bank carrying one of those huge cheques that you see in photos when someone makes a charitable donation or something. I had always assumed they were just photography props and there would be a normal cheque to make the payment.

I don't think they are valid

but I could be wrong

They are legally valid! - whether a bank would accept it is another matter

It doesn't actually matter what a cheque is written on. It doesn't have to be one from an official cheque book to be valid.

This was fictional but did have some basis in truth.

Still got a cheque book I think. Plus a book of paying in slips.
