booze and cake

probably out cycling
Brilliant cycling around there, I'd ideally wait a few months though, in spring and summer it looks glorious, hilly, but for every up there's a great down, and I'm errr built for descending. I recognise theclauds pic of the Elan valley. As he says avoid the A487 and A470 where possible and you'll have a blast. I did this lovely ride around there a few years ago

I did some gopro filming of that ride so if you want to have a bit of a visual recce, have at look at these. Sorry I dont have editing software so really need to dub some music over at some point, so I'd mute it or put some tunes on of your choice.

The descent from Llyn Clywedog to Llanidloes at about the 25mile mark of the above ride

Here is a clip of the Elan Valley where theclaud's pic was taken, at about the 55 mile mark.

The ride down to Devlls's Bridge at about 66 miles

And this one was my own personal favourite of the day, a 7 mile descent from about the 76 mile mark, virtually traffic free riding heaven.

I have a daughter lives in llanllwni , a bit further inland but really great cycling .
I go every month or two and always take the bike

The roads are unbelievably good compared to Kent.

Mugshot

Cracking a solo.
....the wind always howls down the Elan valley, minutes before that clip above I stopped for a photo and it was so strong it blew my bike over

What a great photo of the bike going over
BTW, apparently @theclaud is not a fella, I say apparently as even though we both live in Wales somehow we've never met, anyway thought you might like to know

Hate sound like wimp but there is a fantastic off road route between llanddewi brefi, tregaron, aberystwyth. One hill , skme road but not too bad. Took 2 inexperienced cycling teenagers there from llandovery ( missed devils staircase)
