Do bikes with disc brakes break more spokes?

I would put multiple breakages in one incident down to the fact that once one goes ping, all the remaining ones are both more heavily, and more unevenly, loaded.
The wheel was 36 spoke, 3-cross, just the same as any other wheel I've been riding the last 25 years, apart from the disc hub.
They didn't all 4 go at once, but one at a time over 30 miles or so, before I got home.

I put it down to a duff batch of spokes. I did hear of someone else having a similar problem with in-the-middle spoke breakages, at about the same time.
