My preparation depends on the time of the ride. If it's a stupido'clock ride, then, yes. I will even have porage in a jug in the fridge ready to nuke in the microwave for 3 minutes..
Otherwise, I can be ready to go quite quickly as all my bikes are on standby for action!!

I've prepared for a ride about half a year in advance! I used Google Maps to plot the route (and StreetView to 'browse' the route), a cycling mapping site to estimate the elevation gain. To be fair, the ride was a major one: about 250km with 4,000m climbing. And yes, it turned out to be really enjoyable! :hyper: That was my first ride to Lake Mountain (NE of Melbourne) and back.

Coming soon: Bonking on a hill near you!
Route, kit, drinks and food all prepped night before. Check my bike after every ride so that as I am loading bike in car/setting off I only have to do chain and tyres.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I Normally check the bike the day before but the kit and bits and bobs normally get sorted out last minute depending if swmbo has woken up, missed many a ride cus she was still asleep and i had the kids .

Organization is the name of the game for any planned ride further than a 10 mile trip

I've separate places for every day clothing and cycle stuff. It's just a matter of grabbing element appropriate stuff and putting it on.

Bikes are mostly kept as immaculate as possible and just waiting to twist my garmin on, ready to ride

Stuff always prepped the night before. I'd just end up forgetting something if I didn't.

Bike comes in the hallway for early morning weekend rides too.

The less faff in the morning the better.
