Panic over, hopefully at least.

Consultant/Specialist bloke said it's highly likely to be either a cyst or a thickening of the tube which is quite common following the snip, (snip done 6 years ago).

He's still going to send me for a scan, the guy just had a good old rummage today, but I'm feeling much better about the whole thing now.

Thanks for all the messages peeps, CC'ers really are the best :hugs:

Excellent. Epididywhatsit very likely (bloody expert on it now)

Good ! I actually shat myself when my GP gleefully announced over the phone that if the operating Doc has damaged a blood vessel/supply then one of them would need to go - referral was 6 weeks away  . Two hours later, £150 lighter, private scan and nothing wrong with flow. Priceless.

The scan will show up cysts and inflamation - I even had my scan on the 42 inch TV in the room !

Glad it sounds like it's OK. But a +1 for checking your bearings and going to the quack's if you find anything.

I found a lump in one of my balls 21 years ago – in my case it turned out to be testicular cancer, which had spread to my abdomen and lungs – it got sorted, though 6 years ago they found some related (well weird and nasty) tumours called teratomas which have also been sorted. Nowadays testicular cancer is usually treatable and curable, but if it spreads widely it can be bad news, so don't delay.

Sorry to hear about the problems, and hope it is something simple, I have worked in imaging for many years ... please take this as light entertainment!

Many years ago we had a patient for Ultrasound of the Testes, and it was performed by one of the ultrasonographers ( who was a very charming young lady.....)

Every time she tried to apply the probe to his testes the obvious happened.... and after several attempts she gave up.

The report that went to the GP is one of those that remains anonymised in the teaching file...

Ultrasound Testes

During the examination the patient became excited and erect. This made the examination difficult. When the patient ejaculated on my forearm I decided that further attempts at scanning were inappropriate and the examination abandoned.

Very good. It's a big worry for any bloke getting their bits out, especially when there is young female doctors or sonographers about, but you are either in too much pain, or crapping yourself, nowt happens. Getting the snip was bad enough, two blokes in the room, but the visit to the doctors a few days later, and the young female GP asks to have a look, TBH you just drop em and say help. I just joke now, that I've never had to drop my pants so much in my life. Embarrassing, but if it needs fixing, you just get em out. You do end up cracking jokes, that the docs have probably heared many times, at least they laugh.
