You'd think that after the patient ejaculated would then be a good time to do the scan without further, err, side effects.^_^

I remember once, in St Bart's in London, going for a STI test as my then wife was adamant I had something (I didn't, she was found to be diabetic instead). I was called and shown through a door to a doctor with a very, very long cotton bud!
I dropped my trousers and pants as requested and then while he was getting a sample I chose to look away.

That was when I noticed that behind me was a room full of people working at desks, and random hospital workers coming and going about their other business, and the door I went through was just the entrance to an open plan office and corridor walk way. There was even a porter, with a trolley carrying boxes, waiting for me to be done so he could get past!

Good luck and hope it's good news.

What's surprising me is how many blokes are responding with stories of problems with their man-baubles.

Definitely good advice to check regularly.

SKS, I was similarly underawed by the sexual charms of my doctor ( entirely due to the circumstances rather than her obvious attractiveness) , cringeing in fear and embarassment. Twenty years ago, it looked like I had a fertility problem. My GP said I could wait for a couple of months or go to a private clinic. At the time, my wife had a generous private heath insurance policy that also covered me. The GP said the private clinic was in Harley Street, and that they like "the sample to be less than 45 minutes old". With a flash of panic, I realised that if I went there, it would take about an hour of stress on public transport, and that I would be asked to have a w#nk on the medical premises to produce the stuff when I got there. It was not an option that I relished. I chose the NHS. A couple of months later, I managed to get the stuff into an NHS plastic pot at home (it ain't easy!), sealed it into a brown envelope, and dashed for forty five minutes to Charing Cross Hospital's Reproductive Medicine Department ,arriving breathlessly just within the time limit, hoping for a discrete transfer,

"When was this sample passed ?" .....Yelled the receptionist in front of twenty people waiting to see a consultant.

Pleased to read that all seems to be okay and I applaud you for bringing the subject to the forum.
If I can use the opportunity to get this across.(Jumps onto soapbox)
Listen fellas, Smokey took the right action.
Do not be embarrassed, if you notice anything not right get it checked out as soon as possible and if you are not content with the diagnosis GET a second opinion!
I will tell my story, please take note. Because of the delay it kept me off the bike for over 5 years!
In March 2006 I noticed a swelling in my groin about 3 inch from my hip, off I trot to my GP who refers me to a ''Specialist'' saying it was probably an Inguinal Hernia.
Specialist agreed and sent me off for ultra sound scan. All this took over six months. By this time I had a huge swelling in my groin and now had swelling in my scrotum, once again when I saw Surgeon for scan results he said 'It's probably an Hernia, I have seen dozens of these, some men have them for over twenty years, no problem.
It was February 2007 when I had my 'Hernia' op. It was supposed to be an hour, 3 hours later I was back on the ward. Minus my right testicle and a 2 pound tumour removed from my groin!
Oh heck, it was now a year after I saw my GP that I had to wait a week to have it confirmed it was malignant
I was then put under the care of the outstanding team at Sheffield Weston Park Cancer Hospital.
They informed me I had a Liposarcoma, that is so rare that any GP or General Surgeon may only ever see one in their career.
Six weeks later I had to go for the team at the Hallamshire to correct and ensure all carcinogenic tissue was removed as Chemo doesn't touch this version!!!
Then followed Six weeks of daily Radiotherapy, burns ensued and much discomfort.
All well and back to work in but my groin and muscles had been hammered.
Fast forward to 2009 when I had a recurrence in the lower groin, back in for more surgery, but no more Radiation because I had max'ed out in the area.
My poor muscles have only recovered this last year and at least I am back on the bike and I am alive.
If I had not gone for the Hernia surgery at that time the tumour would have gone to Grade 4 from the Grade 3 it was at that time and metastasised and spread through my body.
I am still having Six Monthly checks, fingers crossed it stays away.

Awareness is all we have please, please, please do not be ignore it and do not be embarrassed. We wear bib shorts for God's sake!

All the best to any fellow survivors.
