The Wetherspoons is in West Street and I'd be very dubious about leaving my carbon dream machine there. It's the through route for the chavs tourists from the station to the beach.
Hopefully the Fortune of War on the lower prom will be available.

Very good, Ape. A fine delivery if I might say so and good enough to bowl a maiden over! Claudine!!!

I would like to do this run as I'm back from my tour of Scotland.
But my trike is booked in to be serviced ( Both front brakes are shot, tracking out of line, bad chain suck, etc, etc ) on the 22nd-23rd.
So it all depends if I can get from Falmouth to Brighton by car, in time to get the train to London, as to if I'll make it.

Luck ...........

Ok I know i'm early but I may need to buy stuff. This is the first time I've done one of these long-ish distance rides, what kit do I need? What I'm planing on taking is:

two inner tubes; tyre levers; mini pump; allen keys; spoke key; spare batteries for lights; water; phone (all these things are usually with me anyway) plus some fig rolls; lock (may need a lock buddy as mine is only a cable lock); high viz vest (kindly donated by maintenance guys at work); camera.

Am I likely to need anything else?

Can't decide whether to swap my tyres out and put new rear brake blocks in.

Ta for advice in advance

clean chain?

"Bloody Hell"
In the mid- 70s I used to visit Brighton about once a month and take "real photos" - there was a bar I photographed...derelict and I probably have it scanned somewhere...'The Fortune of war'

Not playing any more - too spooky'

One of the few pubs in Brighton with a 24hr license and it's nearer to the beach than the Madeira Cafe.

1974! I was <cough> three, same age as you rich

I only took the photo because of the words in relation to the dilapidation - nothing much has changed in all this time has it?

Simon,

Could you add me too please (and possibly also a friend).

Hopefully it'll be better weather than my last fnrttc to Brighton (last October i believe - torrential rain and arctic wind - i was the idiot in the shorts and no coat)

Merci

Wow. In the forum switchover I managed to miss this. Ah... Excellent news Dan. Looking forward to riding with you again. And this time, no trainers either.

I think there's at least 5 or 6 for the return journey, not sure of the route though I was planning on following Aperitif or Ianrauk...... I won't be going to HPC, will leave at a suitable point to get me to my bed in SE London

Good, I recognise the names but how to identify? No doubt the post ride chat will identify les sportifs and I will be happy to follow a pathfinder.

I was looking a route via Devil's Dyke and the NCN20. Does any one know the condition of the offroad section after Pease Pottage running for approx 2k N to Maidenbower? Will 25 mm gatorskins be up to the job?
:?::

Naughty boy gbs! ;)

Look for Andy, arallsopp, with the recumbent, Ian, Ianrauk, with the 'tattooed beat messiah arms, or stand still and aim at Martin,235 who will be riding back too - and you will not miss him!

(Why do I keep saying 'George Bernard Shaw' to myself?)
