I hope the archive of madness works, but I'm new to posting pics, and apologise if I missed out any of the kind souls around the table

What a great ride. Good company, good weather, good food, good drink and good God did I really drink nearly half as much as Ape, Adrian, Des and la belle Claudine?
As Lance Armstrong famously said, "It's Not about the Booze" but there was a theme that developed during the night with a regular supply of my Co-op's single malt (don't knock it!), Andrij's Laphroig, copius fizz on the Beacon and much, much more on the Prom!

Too many highlights to not forget a few but here goes....
Meeting new CCers like Ed, Abs, Paul ZZ, Russ, Martin Slothmotion (!), and some more...
Old stagers like Andy A, Andy iLB, Lee, Ian etc
Baklava guaranteed to give you a sugar rush and to rot your teeth in record time
Ian selflessly ensuring that the sandwiches didn't go to waste
The genuine surprise and delight of Simon as he got to the Beacon and thereafter
Greg for a brilliantly organised bubbly dispensation with an extremely well-disguised hangover

Lowlights were few but Stu's chute was worrying wait
Zimmer's beautiful weighted delivery of the line, " you're not as fat as you look on your avatar, Rich"

And Matt proving that I was the worst recumbent triallist after all!

Cheers to all for a memorable ride!

plus one final mention in despatches for Claudine's organisational genius

Evening everyone.

Sorry I couldn't do the actual riding bit of the ride, but I was everso pleased to get to the top in the motor with a few minutes to spare.

It was rather odd driving down from Haywards Heath to Ditchling and passing all those cyclists. I was rather pleased with myself that I recognised so many from behind the wheel.

Top organisational skills everyone who had a part in it. I managed a few photos:

I am still in awe of that performance. Ditchling wasn't as bad as I was expecting but to get up it on a fixie deserves respect!!!

Hey Abs,

Did you pass your 150 on Sat? I was just short at 144 but my feet were burning so couldn't be bothered to get the extra 6

That's got to be the best party ever held atop DB I reckon.

Happy Birthday Simon and great work everyone else getting the stuff up there and keeping it from him. He really had no clue did he ?

Same again next year ? ?

I was 10 miles short of it and just wanted to get home. I didn't go the easy route home via Archway though and went up my normal route through Hampstead. I did get over 5000 ft of climbing and broke my top speed somewhere during the ride when I hit 44.2mph. I also stopped off in Camden, just outside Regent's Park to have an icecream.
