Sounds like the old bore at the pub who thinks he can drive home after 5 pints because it doesnt affect his driving.

Speeding is socially unacceptable and to have that many points is inexcusable. Especially when he can get his high speed fix any time he wants, legally, unlike most boy racers, as he has access to fast bikes and race tracks.

So you think someone with 21 points on his license isn't dangerous? Really?
Quite possibly, I have no idea what all the points are for other an 4 points which he got for driving a transit van at 58mph on a National Speed limit single carriageway road. I think we have had this before, speed in itself is not dangerous, inappropriate speed however is. To my mind 35mph in a 30mph should be an automatic 30 day ban, for each 1mph over 35mph it should be increased by 7 days, over 40mph 6 months. So if you know that his speeding points were in 30mph zones then I am in agree with you, as I stated please prove your stance.

Speed of itself is dangerous.
no it's not, inappropriate speed is
The faster the travel, the greater the distance traveled in your reaction time, the greater the energy in any collision.
No arguement from me over this
Speeding also makes our shared road environment more hostile and unpleasant for other people.
Not if there is nobody else there.

It's not surprising that the vast majority of road users are speeding. Look at 'transit' type vans, they're way overpowered as a gimmick to get tradespeople to buy them. Speed and power is part of the sales arms race.

Anyway this is now far off topic & not about Robot cars & all about the personality, so sorry @User @User @ABikeCam I will refrain from making any further replies.

Here for rides.
I agree with you , he seems genuinely enthusiastic in the things he does and also seems to make time for the fans.
A of of his challenges have required a lot of physical effort and training on his behalf and has done things which a lot of people would never attempt.
A lot of people would never attempt a lot of things because they aren't ego driven nobbers. Being driven by a "need for speed" or similar isn't automatically heroic.

Having seen the race car lose grip it would be interesting to see how the road going equivalents cope with things like ice.
Agreed, but they really were naive to expect a car to be sat for 11 minutes to be able to able to go out & do a 'hot' lap immediately, it would have been good for them the have been able to circulate the car back up to the prior speeds & then send it again at the new limit. But I presume they would want to do a full check once it's been in the gravel.
