Soon we'll all live forever, but with the relentless march of sweeteners none of us will want to.

Some of the drinks, I wouldn't mind if they were a bit less sweet. I'd definitely prefer that to sweeteners in many cases.

Meanwhile Coke / Pepsi had an almost guaranteed standard, so the advice was to get a bottle of "full fat" (none of that namby pamby diet stuff) crack the top and leave for a few hours. Then drink the flat drink.

Sounds like poor advice. Coke's recipe has varied by country and even region for a long time - I expect Pepsi does too. The southern US version of Coke contains something that causes me extreme wind but it's been a few years so I don't remember what.

My Missus uses sweeteners. I'd sooner just take my tea without, or sprinkle rat poison on my cornflakes.

It's Fathers' Day. My Dad, still going strong at 92, on a hot day would only ever drink tea. I follow his example. Until the sun is over the yardarm that is.
