Thank you. This year, if I'm in a "glass-half-full" mode (as I am tonight), has certainly helped me put things in perspective, especially my daughter's accident. Her life changed forever in the space of about a minute. I am never going to waste my time again, and have made it my duty to move forward and look for the positives in life, grab them, and make the most of them.

For those who don't know my daughter's story, I'm happy to summarize it here, as it is having a very positive outcome ...

She developed epilepsy out of the blue 7 yrs ago, and has had 50+ (major) seizures to date. Early this year she had a seizure in her flat, fell onto a candle which set her hair and clothes alight, resulting in permanent burn injuries, and the need to wear a wig for the rest of her life, and ongoing physical/psychological treatment, including major surgery still to come next summer. Some people would have crumbled ... but she has shown a resilience and a strength that I am sooooooo proud of, and as well as resuming her degree, is doing valuable voluntary work for one of the charities that is supporting her (Katie Piper Foundation).
She has made me a very, very proud dad indeed.

I would say you have every reason to be proud, extremely proud in fact.

Thinking back to my OP, one thing I've really noticed this year is....
Despite luckily only working 8.5 hours a day and having most weekends off. ...life just seems so frikkin busy, I seem to lurch between having loads to do...and nothing to do so I tend to relax because I feel like I need to , plus I generally ache terribly in the morning for half an hour, then feel ok but then get progressively achier through the day. I don't seem to be having quality time, time where I'm enjoying myself. Life's ok but I guess you might call it mundane.

I was going to post a mild moan about my lack lustre year then I read the OP. Now feeling rather thankful for my lot.

It has been a tricky one for me. Dropping dead twice (and then being shocked back to life) in April mainly saw to that.

Hoping to end it by acheiving my 2,000 mile year target (15 to go so should do...). Nothing distance wise for many but for me every mile is hard won.

Been a pretty good year  Seems to have whizzed by though.
Mr M had a wee health scare and had to postpone our holiday in Lanzarote until next year. Doing better now though and on target for take off in February  (bring on the fat bikes) :hyper:
Sister’s hubby still in remission from tonsil cancer and their lovely kids (wee niece and nephew) doing great!
Our cat, Thomas is very happy with his new brother, wee Sam
Elderly neighbours still going strong :okay:
Feel very thankful for all we have
