How much does dumping car tyres save you?

Someone dumped 4 car tyres at the local play area this week. The next day I spotted some at a recently demolished building site.

Clearly there is some incentive to dump them. How much does it save?

My last bill from ATS Euromaster included "scrap disposal" for 2 tyres; £2.39.

I was told by the environment agency about 6 years ago that if you pay less than £1 for tyre disposal then they won't be being processed correctly.

I don't know if this is true but have no reason to dispute them.

Our tip takes car tyres for free, up to 4 per punter. In fact, most of the crap dumped on the verge is taken for free at the tip.

We get charged £1 per bike tyre for disposal with appropriate certificates, and go through quite a lot!.

I asked at local tip/ recycling centre about 4 car tyres and they refuse to take them..

I guess you could turn them into shoes, underlay or flower pots and try again later.
