Money does not buy you happiness, it can though make your misery a bit nicer.

I cannot understand why people think that because a person has money then they are happy.

jefmcg, you never wore 26 inch bell bottoms, or frilly shirts then.
No. Because I am too young. And irrelevant, as I am not pitching myself as a designer (as explained upthread, my dad did not have millions to throw at my career and if he did ... I liked numbers ... not sure how he could have invested in that).

But full disclosure, particularly as I have shared it before https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/never-seen-in-the-same-room.211347/post-4597526

Honestly, I am not actually embarrassed by that. I would totally do it again no (rats tail and all, which you can't see in the photo). I won't do it again, because presumably it would make me like those fifty-something women you saw with a beehive in 80s. More ageing than a simple bob. And, let me emphasise this - I am not marketing myself as a designer.

Apologies, but it was a very tongue in cheek remark I made.

Pointing out basically in that fashions will be liked by some and hated by others, and often laughed at in later years.

Money doesn't make you happy. Google Dupont heirs or Tetrapak heirs if you want to be sad.

But the Beckhams set out to be financially successful. They have achieved that. Good on them. Being a success is all you can hope for. Everything else is luck or planning or .... someone come in and tell me what is required to be happy. I do not know.
