I didn't know that the clocks had gone forward an hour

I was leading a ride today for my local cycle club. The ride started at 9.30 so I set an alarm for 7.30 reasoning that if it didn't go off at the right time, I'd still have an hour to get to the start.

Anyone I've heard saying we should stop putting the clocks forward/back isn't old enough to remember the years we didn't do it.

When I was in Iceland in January it wasn’t getting light until 10am. The local school kids seemed to manage.

Imagine what it must be like going to school in northern Norway in winter!

I overhears someone's conversation last night,regarding holidays in Scandinavia. One woman said that Norway has a much greater suicide rate than Britain because they have much shorter daylight in the winter months. Yes but they have much longer daylight in the summer months,so that should balance it up, i thought. I didn't say anything as she didn't look the type that liked to be corrected.

Yes,i always thought the clocks changed on the last Saturday of March or October.
