I think we're on the wrong forum

Pistonheads forum have people who post pictures of cyclists getting killed and writing "Ha ha!" beneath it. The rest of the forum is people asking how they can lie to their insurer to get away with not reporting a claim.
That's as ludicrous as saying all autobhans are limitless. There's a couple of sections full of morons but there's huge parts dedicated to all things car related ie mechanical, servicing, specialist etc etc.

I was right about that saddle
Well, I witness some STUPID cycling yesterday evening.

Cyclist was on a foldup bike, with reflectives and lights, riding along the pavement (that is not the STUPID bit ). It's very busy, dark and raining.
Next thing, he needs to get across a roundabout, which has two lanes (Left lane for Left Turn and Straight on, and Right Lane for Right turn)
From the pavement he joins the road and roundabout in front of me at the junction (traffic has stopped ) and proceeds to start off from the Right Hand Lane.
He waits for a gap and proceeds, the cars to his left go left and forward, and the cars behind (me) hang back.
Only he goes STRAIGHT ON. A car to his left nearly collects him in the grille.

MENTAL, Seriously mental.

I have been a member of Pistonheads for over 10 years. I don't post very often because so many threads seem to end up with someone with the mentality of a 17 year old 'lad' posting on them - the sort of person who refers to women as 'birds' and will respond to any comment about any woman with some comment along the lines of 'yeah but did you do her?' Frankly it's not something one wishes to be associated with, and makes reading most things on there hard work.

There are some good posters, as with any forum - 10penceshort on this thread is thought provoking, for example - although of course by his own admission his driving was unacceptable. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=442266&i=40

There has never been a post on here saying all drivers should be killed. There are plenty on pistonheads that say all cyclists should be killed.

...all drivers should be killed...

It's not what you quote, it's how you quote.

Oh - and I couldn't find any posts on pistonheads saying all cyclists should be killed. Perhaps it's be a nicer world if we didn't try and lump people into pre-defined categories (like 'cyclist' and 'driver' for example) all the time. It's not black and white out there - it's very grey.

I can't see anyone being "dissed".

I do fantasise about killing cyclists.

Especially the ones that swerve to avoid puddles causing me to slam all on.

As cyclists, we generally agree (I think?) that car drivers (and vans and cabs etc) do not know the law for cyclists as much as cyclists do. So whenever some altercation happens, us cyclists repeat the same thing to ourselves over and over.

But this information is never read by the car drivers. I wonder if a bunch of us signed up on some car chat forums to bring our views to their attention, in a friendly way of course, a bit like an information exchange. Something like international exchange student programs, but, for forums.

The only problem i see is I doubt I will spend much time on the car forums. I might sign up to a couple of forums and see what happens.

Ooh you rebel!

Nobody is disputing there isn't a right bunch of nasty a-holes on that site. There's plenty of good stuff too.

Apology accepted.

Why waste your time reading crapp like that? More to the point, why take it seriously? Clearly some keyboard heroes at work, coq waving by 17 year olds probably.
We all come across sites we don't like. Move on.....
