Is 35C tyre a common size or not?

I have been running Vittoria Randonneur Pro tyres (the folding version) for a while now in 35mm and 32mm sizes. They have been swapped around between bikes a bit so not entirely sure on what the mileage is but both sets must have covered at least 2000 miles each and have always proven robust and predictable. They also appear to be wearing extremely well and should last at least the same again, if not more.... Perfect for commuting and leisure.

Looking around it seems they might now be out of production as suppliers are limited

fiver 37s I referred to above are Vittoria Randoneurs - not sure what variant - Vittoria's product naming is a quagmire - whatever they are they seem to roll nicely - have ridden loaded Birmingham to London on them - a long night ride in the offing for them very soon - Planet X do seem to have some sort of hotline to Vittoria bargain stock.

Which law is that? I've just done some research and cannot find any law referring to this. It's common sense to have matched tyres but it is not against the law to run say, a Vittoria on the front and a Continental on the back.

No but I do know that spesh used to stop retailers shipping bikes abroad.
I know this as I was buying a bike from the wonderful Edinburgh Bike Co-Op for someone in Italy and thought it would be easier and maybe cheaper for them to ship it out.
But though they were very helpful (as always) they said that spesh wouldn't let them.
Spesh had some bullshit reason to do with safety but it was clearly related to price fixing/differential pricing in different markets (including EU markets I stress) so in the end I had to get Edinburgh Bike co-op to ship it to me Scotland to London and then fly out with it.
I wasn't tapped on the shoulder by a spesh customs official as I entered foreign country with the bike.

Yes.
And I have always wondered whether it's legal.
Open EU market and all.
Sounds very iffy to me.
As a trade journalist I fairly often used to get press releases from companies about the supposed evils/risks to consumers of "grey imports" and company bods would now and again bring it up in conversation.
You were expected to tut tut at the practice.
But if you asked about whether these "grey imports" were fake/unsafe in any way, they used to go strangely quiet.
For of course they were totally genuine, as safe as anything else made by the same company - they just wanted to charge the Brits more for the same stuff.

Edit - this is maybe also the reason I don't ever remember seeing any spesh tyres sold by planet X - lots of choice of other stuff though, including as always Vittoria.

pjd, this is not something I know much about-(width V courseness of tread) as my main riding is on my road bikes. I note your preference for going wider than 35. What sort of riding area/surfaces are you riding? What are your thoughts on Width versus tread courseness?
