Copper is the predominant metal used in the mixing of Brass Alloy. This means that copper based metals such as brass, can prevent bacteria from spreading, and even completely destroy germs and bacteria.

Known as the Oligodynamic Effect, the metal react with thiol (-SH) or amine (-NH (1,2,3) ) groups of proteins, a mode of action to which microorganisms may develop resistance. Such resistance may be transmitted by plasmids.

The term "copper" was originally used in England as a slang word for a police officer. This term was used, however, as a term of abuse by criminals, especially petty street criminals. It was considered highly derogatory by the police themselves. It was made illegal in England to use this term for a police officer, because it was so derogatory.

The term became associated with the metal copper after that law was passed, when those hoods who wanted to abuse an officer would carry a small piece of copper metal in the palm of their hand, then flash it at the policeman. This usage of "copper" got shortened to "cop." The first documented use of the term copper for a police officer is in 1846.

The Oxford English Dictionary documents this usage. Most sources report that the first documented use of the short form cop as applied to a police officer is in 1859. The term "copper" was used in London for police by 1846.

Isambard Brunel invented the BSO. However, the original design was held together with rivets rather than brazed.

He also invented the Brooks saddle - when his pet cow, Brooks, died he had to get the body to the abbatoir. Brunel slung the carcass over the existing riveted cast iron seat, riveted in place, and was amazed at how comfortable it was. However, early models suffered by being heavy and become quickly very ripe in hot weather. The later refinement where only the cows skin was used was developed in 1941 when C.H. Argespoon came up with the idea.

According to the legend of the Batammaliba people in Togo and Benin in Africa. Who view a lunar eclipse as a conflict between sun and moon – a conflict that the people must encourage them to resolve. It is therefore a time for old feuds to be laid to rest, a practice that has remained until this day.
