Why i ask is,between my cycling days.I do leg exercises given to me by the Hospital in 2003,after having two Arthroscopies on my left knee.I have found them helpful. But during today's ride my thighs felt heavy, and it was not a good ride, despite it being a perfect day.I have noticed this before. They are simple exercises, rising on the toes ten times.Bending each knee ten times and finally both knees at the same time.So does anyone do leg exercises. That are designed to help with the cycling.Just to say i do two or three of these exercise daily. So that is just 30 of each bending.

I have a back injury after falling badly from my horse in 2006. Stupidly i did the " just get over it" thing and 18mths later ended up in a very sorry state. Thankfully i found a brilliant osteopath and pilates rehab tutor and work sent me off to rehab for daily physio. Strangely the two things that eased the pain were cycling and running and combined with the leg and back exercises keep the pain at bay and strengthen my back.
Unfortunatly the last two years have found me in a desk job albeit high pressured but sitting down does not help me. Therefore in March i joined a running club and im now back on tour for a month in Europe which i haven't done since 2012. Both help my back enormously however camping doesnt but i'm getting by.

I don't do exercises specifically for cycling, but, as well as playing Golf twice a week, I do a range of stretches and exercises that cover the whole body. I think it becomes ever more important as you get older and I do feel better for it.

I walk a lot. It's only 3 miles into the city so I walk in, I walk my dogs too.
I joined the gym today (6 weeks summer membership thing) so I did some running and weights. Better working out there than in my office here.
I like to climb and swim from time to time as well.

How much does it cost to Oldham?
Yes. Weights. Big ones.

I've recently discovered the joys of cobbing weights about.

I hardly ride a bike.

Started running a while ago but had to stop about three months ago with a dodgy knee, I finally got started again a few weeks ago.

I like to lift weights as well, but laid off that for the past few months with a shoulder impingment.

Before I discovered cycling regularly, during school I did an Insanity cardio workout for a semester. Holy CRAP. The hardest thing I've ever done in terms of physical exercise. Last Summer, I got a weight bench - not one of those resistance ones, preferring free weights - which apparently are better for you. I'm having that bench brought from my old place soon so that I can start back up again.

I'm like a beanpole. Fit as a fiddle, big thighs and calves (thanks for cycling!), but not much upper-body.

I dont do anything specifically to aid cycling, but on the advice of my Chiropractor many years ago due to a long term back injury i swim once or twice a week. Excellent exercise, with no impact to joints unlike running and jogging. i also play golf and do a bit of walking. I now have no back problems, in fact i have no problems at all health wise.
