you don't want to be moving forward 5 inches for each pedal revolution and only going at 1 mph
1 mph = about 18" a second. Climbing a hill really really slowly your cadence would not be above 60rpm so one revolution of the cranks a second for that 18".
Gear calculator for 48-36-26, 11-34 and cadence of 90 on 700c wheels with 32mm tyres on.
With the 26/34 the gear is 21" long and at 60rpm you do about 3mph.

Someone very smart will come along and tell you what gear inches/centimetres you would have with a 26/32 and 26/34 on a 700c wheel
Thank you @Ajax Bay ! :thanks:

If the 32 fits get that and change the inner ring to a 24th if the 32 doesn't just fit a 24 inner as nothing else needs to be changed at all, not even the chain.

Auch!! Numbers give me spinning fits!
Cheers @Nigelnaturist I have already bought a like for like, 11-30.
Actually, I have never changed just the one chain ring ( have replaced entire crank sets before), so this is something I will have to learn next!
Already got the wee tool to hold the back of the allen bolts
